The series of lectures covers the history of Babylonia from the fall of the Kassite Dynasty around the end of the 2nd Millenium B.C. (1185 B.C.) until Alexander the Great`s conquest of Babylon in 331 B.C. Besides the history of the period the lectures will also present some of the major Babylonian archaeological sites. Particular attention will be paid to the Neo-Babylonian Empire (Chaldean Dynasty) and the age of architectural activity that made Babylon renowned as one of the wonder of the ancient world. |

The series of lectures covers the history of Babylonia from the fall of the Kassite Dynasty around the end of the 2nd Millenium B.C. (1185 B.C.) until Alexander the Great`s conquest of Babylon in 331 B.C. Besides the history of the period the lectures will also present some of the major Babylonian archaeological sites. (in Polish) Po zakończeniu kursu student: zna podstawowe pojęcia i terminologię stosowane w archeologii Mezopotamii, zwłaszcza Babilonii I tys. p.n.e. i ma podstawową i uporządkowana wiedzę na temat różnych zagadnień z zakresu archeologii Babilonii tego okresu (K_W02) wie o najważniejszych nowych osiągnięciach w zakresie archeologii południowej Mezopotamii I tys. p.n.e. (K_W08) umie wyszukiwać, analizować, selekcjonować, oceniać i użytkować informacje zawarte w różnych źródłach (K_U02), w tym informacje o źródłach archeologicznych i ich kontekście z wykorzystaniem literatury naukowej (K_U01) umie samodzielnie zdobywać wiedzę i rozwijać umiejętności badawcze w zakresie archeologii Babilonii I tys. p.n.e. (K_U04) jest gotów do wykorzystania posiadanej przez siebie wiedzy i umiejętności oraz jest świadomy konfrontowania ich z opiniami ekspertów (K_K01) jest w stanie uznać istotne znaczenie pozostałości materialnych kultury Babilonii w I tys. p.n.e., zabytków literatury w języku babilońskim, przetrwania i przekazania epokom późniejszym różnych babilońskich tradycji, w tym osiągnięć naukowych (astronomia, medycyna) jako ważnego elementu dziedzictwa kulturowego ludzkości (K_K02) jest gotów do wykorzystania posiadanej przez siebie wiedzy na temat kompleksowej natury kultury babilońskiej I tys. p.n.e., ze świadomością potrzeby analizy rozmaitych kategorii źródeł (pisanych, archeologicznych, ikonograficznych) dla odtworzenia przeszłości kultury europejskiej i światowej (K_K05) |
