Classroom

The course is an introduction to the new media with special regard to the use of them in researchers' practice.

The aim of the course is to acquire the ability to use new media in their simplest forms (basic devices and computer programs to be used by the ethnographer.) The participants will get basic information about computer, internet and the most important facts about the history of computer science and the presence of anthropology in the digital world.

The subject is carried out in the form of exercises with elements of a seminar and workshop. E-learning is used.

Classes are an introduction to the issues of new media with special emphasis on the ability to use them in the work of an ethnographer. Participants will receive basic information about computer, internet and the most important facts about the history of computer science and the presence of anthropology in the digital world. The main goal of the course is in the ability to scientifically search for information (texts, sources) and to use information technologies to present research results (text formatting, editing, multimedia essay, presentation). Classes will take place on the digital platform (65%) and during classes in the lecture hall (35%). The scientific materials are available on the internet platform.

12. Are we all criminals now? Copyright in the internet age (e-learn).

13. Written assessment.

Students will use multimedia materials placed on the platform nowykampus.come. Materials include fragments of various scientific texts, multimedia presentations, film fragments and sound files.

After completing the course, the student:

- knows how to use various types of information technologies in scientific practice (information search, presentation of research results);

- can communicate using various communication channels and techniques with specialists in the humanities and social sciences, in Polish and in a foreign language;

- understands the need to learn throughout life

- is able to cooperate in a research team in the process of research and presentation of results;

- can complement and improve acquired knowledge and skills and actively participate in scientific and cultural life, using various media;

- knows and understands the basic concepts and principles in the field of protection of intellectual property and copyright;

- has basic research skills, including the formulation and analysis of research problems, the selection of research methods and tools, the implementation of a research project, the elaboration and presentation of results, allowing for the interpretation of cultural and social phenomena.
