Short description:

The lecture will examine different social and political aspects of the black market in the postwar Poland (1944-1989). During the lectures will be presented both the problems typical for the whole term of the communist Poland (western currencies, gold, meat, moonlight alcohol) and observed only periodically (cars, gasoline). The important aspect of the lecture will be the complicated interactions between society and government and the "geography" of the black market in Poland.
