  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;

Prerequisites (description):

(in Polish) Celem przedmiotu jest osiągnięcie przez prowadzącego założonych efektów kształcenia poprzez realizację określonych zadań dydaktycznych. Wybraną metodą dydaktyczną jest wykład. Sposobem na aktywizacje studentów w trakcie zajęć jest wprowadzenie elementów konwersatoryjnych, a także praca pisemna dotycząca problematyki wykładu.

Short description:

Structures and conjunctures in the European economy of the 14th-16th c. The economic crisis of the 14th c. The economic growth in the 16th c. Economic relations between West and East of Europe.

Full description:

This course studies the development of the European economy of the late Middle Ages and the early Modern Times. Particularly

structures, dynamics and regional differentiation of this economy will be examined. Moreover social aspects of economic changes

will be included. The two main questions that underlie this class will be: the economic crisis of the 14th-15th centuries and the economic

growth of the 16th century; convergence and divergence of the economic development in regard to the western and eastern

Europe in the mentioned period.

Learning outcomes:

After receiving credits for this course a student knows and understands the most important processes occurring in the European economy in the 14th-16th centuries and their social aspects; is knowledgeable about scholar discussion concerning these processes; is aware of the specific character of the preindustrial economy.
