The seminar is devoted to axiological issues in Russian literature, presented both in classical texts (reinterpretation of the classics) and in the work of secondary authors |
Full description: |
The fourth semester of the seminar provides 1) discussions on contemporary axiological terminology in the humanities; 2) interpretations of contemporary theoretical texts regarding the evaluation of literary works; 3) discussions of the issues of the canon of world literature, 4) other issues related to the subject of master's theses. |

Learning outcomes: |
Knowledge: A student knows the issues of contemporary axiological terminology in the humanities; A student is familiar with the contemporary theoretical texts related to the evaluation of literary works; A student knows the issues of the canon of world literature. Skills: A student prepares the entire master's thesis; A student is able to present the results of their research; A student has skills in editing scientific texts in Russian and Polish; A student has research skills in the analysis and interpretation of literary works in the context of axiological issues. Social competences: A student is aware of shared responsibility for the preservation of the European cultural and literary heritage; A student is aware of the contribution of Russian culture to the cultural heritage of Europe; A student is aware of the value of cultural diversity and respects the signs of interculturality; A student is capable of determining the appropriate priorities to complete the given task; A student is aware of his knowledge and feels to be obligated to its further increase; A student is aware of shared responsibility for the development of reading and the need to develop their reading interests. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Evaluation of the thesis (100%) The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires justification. The lecturer decides on the recognition of absence. Exceeding excused and unexcused absences by 50% of classes may be grounds to fail the course. The conditions for passing the course on the resit exam are the same as on the ordinary of exam. If it is not possible to conduct classroom classes, classes will be conducted using distance communication tools, most likely Google Classroom and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.
