Short description: |
The aim of the course is to lead students towards the mastery of the English language to a degree which enables communication in many situations of everyday life at the B2 level in the field of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Englsih. |
Full description: |
The aim of the course is to allow students to master the English language to communicate in everyday life at the B2 level of the English language: The student understands the infromation contained in complex statements on specific and abstract topics, including substantive discussions in the field of their specialization. The student can communicate fluently and spontaneously to conduct a conversation with a native speaker of English, without any special effort of either party. The student formulates clear, detailed statements while explaining their point of view on a given topic and considering the advantages and disadvantages of different options. The student communicates effectively in face-to-face situations. (speaking) He can understand a range of spoken materia,l such as news programs, presentations, and daily conversations. (listening and comprehension) The student reads various types of texts, such as books, newspapers and magazines. (reading and comprehension) The student knows how to write various written statements such as a letter, report, review and essay. (writing) Student workload: 60h hours (2 ECTS). organized hours - 2 hours weekly x 1 semester = 30 hours (1 ECTS). student's independent work - 15 hours (0.5 ECTS) preparation for classes, 15 hours (0.5 ECTS ) preparation for the exam In the case of distance learning, the tutor may change the form of the final exam/test from written to oral. If it is not possible to conduct classes on university premises, classes shall be held with the aid of distance learning tools, most likely Zoom and Classroom and others recommended by the University of Warsaw. |
