ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 4.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

The student should know Russian at CEFR A1/A1 level.

Full description:

The content of the teaching is subordinated to the assumption of openness to the cognitive and communicative needs of the students and to their intentions related to the possibility of obtaining the qualification necessary for their future profession or functioning in the country whose language they are studying. According to the information provided above, the classes include a series of practical exercises aimed at basic communicative situations through which students acquire the vocabulary and grammatical rules of the language.

In addition, the aim of the classes is to train listening, speaking, reading, writing skills and to acquire and extend students' linguistic competence in:

1. general understanding of written and spoken texts of varying levels of difficulty

3. express content learned in class in a textual or aural form, in a grammatically correct oral and written (complex) expression

4. express their own opinion using their lexical range and knowledge gained in class;

5. conversation on topics taken from everyday life and in everyday situations, and the ability to prepare statements on more difficult topics (active participation in discussions, debates, etc.)

Knowledge of the rules of grammar provides for: the ability to construct grammatically correct sentences; the ability to solve grammar and grammar-lexical exercises correctly.

After completing the course, the student:

- knows and understands the Russian language in speech and writing in accordance with the requirements specified for level B2 of the European System for the Description of Languages Education (after completing the 6th semester of the 3rd year) - K1_W12;

- is able to communicate in speech and writing in Russian in accordance with the requirements specified for level B2 of the European Description System (after completing the 6th semester of the 3rd year) - K1_U14;

- is able to independently plan and implement their own learning throughout life (K1_U11);

- plan and organize work individually and in a team (K1_U12).

He is ready to:

- critical assessment of knowledge and content received

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Conditions for passing the subject and admission to the final exam:

- attendance;

- control of current preparation;

- passing control tests and translation tests;

- passing group and individual projects.

The evaluation criteria are presented in the form of percentage thresholds (points conversion):

99-100% - 5! (Very good with an exclamation mark)

93- 98% - 5 (very good)

87-92% - 4+ (good plus)

77-86% - 4 (good)

70-76% - 3+ (satisfactory plus)

60-69% - 3 (satisfactory)

The final grade consists of: average grade for mid-term papers (30%) and final exam (70%).

The student has the right to three unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires an excuse. The student's attendance is confirmed by a signature on the list. Exceeding the allowed number of unexcused absences from classes results in the loss of the possibility of taking the exam on the first date.

The student has the right to take the exam in the retake session in the same form as in the basic session and on condition of obtaining credit for the subject.

Exceeding the absence of excused and unexcused absences for 50% of classes may be the basis for failing the subject.
