Prerequisites (description): | Health declaration - after knowing the ruls of the sport section of the University of Warsaw I declare, that Im healthy and I can fully take part in these exercises. In case of any difficulties, I will inform the teacher. |
Short description: |
The classes are addressed to students who have acquired basic climbing skills on a climbing wall by attending the beginner course or otherwise. The course aims at consolidating, perfecting and enhancing climbing techniques, learning basic tactics and developing general fitness and motor abilities specific to climbing. |
Full description: |
Training always begins with a general and specialist warm-up. Students will: – perfect their climbing skills (particularly body positioning depending on the rock formation) and develop motor habits – learn advanced techniques (e.g. heel hooks, heel and toe hooks, dynos, roof climbing) – perfect their feeling of balance and the centre of gravity, as well as static and dynamic movements – learn climbing tactics and efficiency (energy conservation) – get acquainted with various climbing styles (OS, FL, RP, etc.) and climbing competition rules – learn various ways to enhance climbing skills – enhance general and special physical fitness (strength, agility, feeling of balance, endurance). |
Learning outcomes: |
Students: - will acquire the general knowledge of the human body and its functioning; - will be able to exercise safely; - will learn how to work in a team; - will understand the need to stay fit in order to remain healthy; - will be able to use sports equipment correctly; - will develop special motor skills under the guidance of the Physical Education and Sports Centre’s staff. |
