Short description:

The goal of the course to study of a specific group of (Latin)American films in relation to their specific cultural and historical contexts. The task of the subject is to familiarize students with the broad context of American culture and civilization. Another goal of the course is that the student can locate the problem in a broader cultural context and be aware of the importance of (Latin)American heritage and its impact on modern societies. In addition to showing the main issues in this area, the problem shot (including race, class, ethnicity, gender) including (Latin)American texts will also be presented.

The goal of the course to study of a specific group of (Latin)American films in relation to their specific cultural and historical contexts. The task of the subject is to familiarize students with the broad context of American culture and civilization. Another goal of the course is that the student can locate the problem in a broader cultural context and be aware of the importance of (Latin)American heritage and its impact on modern societies. In addition to showing the main issues in this area, the problem shot (including race, class, ethnicity, gender) including (Latin)American texts will also be presented. In addition, the students will learn film theory and learn an understanding of vocabulary, techniques, and methods of the analysis of movies.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Continuous assessment (active participation in class: 20%, and a short presentation: 30% of the final grade), 5 page essay : (50% of the final grade).
