Full description: |
This seminar is based on the program of the Center for French Culture and Francophone Studies of the University of Warsaw. The Center main purpose is the promotion of achievements in social sciences and humanities from the French-speaking world. The lectures will be organized in two series. The first one will be comprised of meetings and debates with French-speaking guest academics from various fields of social sciences and humanities, who will present their research, as well as foundational lectures on classical texts. Discussion and dialogue are here conceived as the main instruments for education. The second series will be seminar sessions to conduct, in French, interdisciplinary studies of social phenomena in the light of a broad spectrum of social sciences, from anthropology and philosophy, to sociology, political science, and history. Active participation to the seminar is expected from the students, in the form of team elaboration of talking points and debate material. |
