Short description:

The course will be devoted to the ways of perceiving the past of the group and the factors that determine it, mainly in relation to ethnic and national groups. Memory, by definition, concerns history and events from the past, but in social life it is above all an object of contemporary actions aimed at creating specific visions of community, collective identities or directing human attitudes. The problems of shaping memory by political institutions as well as shaping of images of the past from an individual, local and "marginalized" perspective will be discussed.
