Short description:

Boredom is the essence of life for many. Therefore is not worth being neglected as trivial problem of the immatured due to being young or immatured beside being old. The boredom is linked with serious life impairment referring to emotionality, identity, cognitive functioning, family life, occupational life, school life etc. (Is boredom potentally creative? Has boredom any bright side?) The lecture deals with the comprehensive discussion about the boredom. The definitions of boredom, its theories as well as the functions of boredom in our lives, the individual differences in boredom succeptibility, the environmental factors and boredom measurement comprise the lecture issues.

Learning outcomes:

K n o w l e d g e .

Student knows the theories of boredom. Student understands the impact of boredom on different spheres of life. Student is familiar with different methods of measurement of the boredom and its components.

S k i l l s . Student is able to make a critical reading of popular conceptions or informations about boredom with regard to scientific knowledge.

Boredom is the essence of life for many. Therefore is not worth being neglected as trivial problem of the immatured due to being young or immatured beside being old. The boredom is linked with serious life impairment referring to emotionality, identity, cognitive functioning, family life, occupational life, school life etc. (Is boredom potentally creative? Has boredom any bright side?) The lecture deals with the comprehensive discussion about the boredom. The definitions of boredom, its theories as well as the functions of boredom in our lives, the individual differences in boredom succeptibility, the environmental factors and boredom measurement comprise the lecture issues.
