Full description: |
The lecture is designed to present the most important phenomena in the cultural history of the Polish nation, but related to the present day. It is a proposition of a joint search for Polish separateness, specificity or even national mentality, manifested through a series of recurrent choices and social arrangements in subsequent generations. It presents Polish aesthetic and humanistic preferences and location on the cultural map of Europe. Attention is paid to aspects of multiculturalism and multiethnicity of Polish history. He settles Polishness in the context of the history of other Slavic nations. This is a presentation from the Slavic lineage to the idea of Pan-Slavism. It presents the specificity of Polish religiousness and church institutions in our country. He treats centralization and decentralization of power and the attitude of Poles towards her. It is a review of the changing social and ethnic structure in the history. Particularly the structure of the nobility. It presents outstanding personalities of Polish culture, art, science and social life both in the country and abroad. It is also an attempt to look at the Polish Diaspora, the reasons and stages of its formation. Part of the discussion is devoted to lingwakulturowe searching for Polish linguistic and civilization identity. Here the issues concern onomastic and phraseological issues (etymology and typology of personal names - personal and local). We are looking at Poland through the prism of our own and neighborly stereotypes, habits, complexes and phobias. * due to the COVID-19 regulations of the UW administration, the syllabi could have been accordingly adjusted.
