Prerequisites (description):

As this lecture is planned as to be a general course there are no special prerequisities concerning it. However the basic knowledge of the classical civilization, especially ancient Roman, would be helpful.

The lecture deals with different aspects of the daily life of the ancient inhabitants of Roman Campania, according to the newest studies. During the course the participants will learn the most important archeological sites and objects, as well as the new research directions.

Learning outcomes:

Student participating in the classes, after completing the course

- has basic knowledge on various aspects of the archeology of Campania

- knows the most important archaeological sites of the area, their geographical and socio-historical context, knows the most important categories of objects.

- has basic knowledge about relationships of the archeology with other areas and disciplines like the humanities, social sciences, etc.;

- understands the relationship between the achievements of selected fields of science and the possibilities of their use in archeology;

- has a basic knowledge of methods and techniques of documentation of archaeological sources

- understands the need for continuous training and professional development;

- recognizes and respects differences in points of view determined by different national and cultural ground

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The student's level of knowledge on the subjects performed during lectures will be base of the evaluation.

The final examination will be in a form of a written test.
