Short description:	The aim of the lecture is to present the history of institutions of the Church and of various aspects of Christian spirituality and religious orders in the Middle Ages, with consideration of the dynamics of the changes which had occurred throughout the centuries. The lecture focuses on the following issues: papacy, bishoprics, royal power, asceticism, prayer and intercession, liturgy, ideal of sainthood, variety of religious orders, social functions of monasteries
Full description:	(in Polish) Oto najważniejsze zagadnienia omawiane na wykładzie: 1. Papiestwo wczesnośredniowieczne. 2. Biskupi i władza królewska we wczesnym średniowieczu. 3. Geneza monastycyzmu. 4. Pustelnia, cenobium i laura. 5. Asceza i porzucenie świata w Kościele IV-VI w. 6. Pierwsze reguły monastyczne. Reguła św. Benedykta. Metody dydaktyczne: Wykład z możliwością zadawania pytań przez studentów. 7. Kult świętych i kult relikwii. 8. Zmieniający się w czasie ideał świętości. 9. Duchowość Kościoła karolińskiego i ottońskiego. 10. Monastycyzm benedyktyński i kanonikat. 11. Potęga modlitwy wstawienniczej i funkcja klasztorów. 12. Reforma gregoriańska, papiestwo i cesarz. 13. Teokracja papieska i jej kryzys. 14. Reforma gregoriańska i jej duchowość. 15. Ideały ascetyczne i różne nurty reformy monastycznej. 16. Pobożność, radykalizm ewangeliczny i pokusa herezji. 17.
