Eclectic method, task approach

teaching techniques: watching and listening to tv programmes (live and recorded), making comments in speech and writing, reading newspaper and internet articles, looking into their forms and ways of presenting the news, vocabulary work - cloze tests, synonyms and collocations, text editing, writing news and commentaries, reporting on texts and news, preparing vocabulary lists on certain subjects,

making short presentations, asking questions and planning interviews

pair work and group work

some grammar exercises, looking at and practising the basic written forms

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Students have to gain adequate number of point for being present and active in class, for homeworks, tests and one presentation in a semester.
