The aim of the lecture is to indicate specific nature of psychology in reflecting upon the phenomenon of altruism as well as to present various theoretical approaches and the relevant results of research on altruism and pro-social behaviour.

The lecture will present a new perspective in psychology that concentrates on the dynamics and change of social and psychological processes. This approach is treating psychological phenomena as processes that can be studied by empirical methods and computer simulations.

Brief description

The course is an introduction to the issues of modern psychology of religion and spirituality. It will cover selected topics regarding measurement, psychological foundation and correlates of religiosity and spirituality. The course is planned as a seminar and may include elements of lecture, literature discussions, and small-group work. All classes will start with a short open-ended entry test regarding the compulsory literature. The course will conclude with a final written exam (both multiple-choice and open-ended questions).
