The lecture will be devoted to extreme natural event in the world and the minimization of the effects of natural hazards to which humans are now exposed.
(in Polish) Na zajęciach omówione zostaną podstawowe kwestie z zakresu geografii ekonomicznej jak uwarunkowania przyrodnicze, praca, rozwój przemysłu, rolnictwa i usług. Rozważane one będą w świetle różnych koncepcji rozwoju przestrzennego gospodarki na świecie, od teorii modernizacji przez teorie zależności po koncepcję globalizacji jako zespołu zależności ekonomicznych, społecznych, technologicznych, politycznych i związanych ze środowiskiem przyrodniczym.
(in Polish) Przedmiotem wykładu jest ukazanie i przedyskutowanie relacji między procesami globalizacji a środowiskiem przyrodniczym, przede wszystkim w sytuacjach konfliktowych, między gospodarczymi, społecznymi i kulturowymi następstwami globalizacji a środowiskiem przyrodniczym (antropopresja). Zmiany dokonujące się w środowisku, w różnych strefach klimatycznych, w różnych typach środowiska, w różnych kontekstach społeczno-gospodarczych. Czy wszystkie zmiany w środowisku uwarunkowane są procesami globalizacji.
(in Polish) As part of the course the discussion on the indicators such as: Defert, Schneider and Charvat is planned as well as about the natural and cultural conditions of the location of the accommodation and gastronomic base, as well as natural and cultural conditions of the location of the paraturist base. In addition, individual stages of the development of a seaside tourist town will be discussed and selected examples of tourism development from all over the World will be shown.
The aim of the exercises is to go through the full research process, from research planning, its implementation in the field and summing up. Based on the theoretical foundations of the survey, the student will analyze the indicated research problem.

(in Polish) Przedmiot został stworzony z myślą o studentach, którzy stawiają swoje pierwsze kroki w trudnej sztuce prowadzenia badań jakościowych. Za pomocą podstaw teoretycznych i praktycznych ćwiczeń studenci zostaną skutecznie przygotowani do prowadzenia własnych badań naukowych w oparciu o metody jakościowe. Poznają najważniejsze nurty badań etnograficznych, podstawowe metody jakościowe stosowane w geografii społecznej oraz nauczą się realizować je w praktyce. Poznają również podstawowe problemy, jakie może napotkać badacz w trakcie projektowania, a następnie realizacji badań.
(in Polish) Przedmiot został stworzony z myślą o studentach, którzy zmierzają już do końca nauki i niedługo opuszczą mury uczelni ze stopniem magistra. Przedmiot ma ich przygotować do tego przykrego wydarzenia oraz pokazać jak można odnaleźć się na rynku pracy lub skomercjalizować zdobytą wiedzę geograficzną.
(in Polish) Turystyka jest zjawiskiem wieloaspektowym: kulturowym, ekonomicznym, przestrzennym, ale przede wszystkim społecznym. Niniejszy wykład ma wskazać na jej wymiar społeczny. Przedstawieni zostaną zatem główni aktorzy biorący udział w turystyce - czyli turyści i społeczności regionów recepcyjnych – oraz relacje między nimi.

During the course, the student broadens his knowledge and professional skills in the field of selected issues related to local and regional development. These issues are based on current examples from the countries of the Global South and the Global North (also from Poland) in the face of contemporary world challenges. They concern both different aspects of the development of cities and regions
