The main objectives of the course are: to acquire knowledge of the fundamental concepts geostatistcs, to become familiar with standard statistical techniques with applications for spatial analysis. The elements of classical statistics – scales of measurements, descriptive statistics, presenting data, the basis of statistical testing, parametric and nonparametric tests, analysis of variance, correlation and regression, a review of multivariate methods. The introduction to the geostatistical analysis, spatial autocorrelation, spatial interpolation methods, semivariograms and kriging, the analysis of spatial pattern, landscape metrics (software: ArcGIS Spatial Analyst, MS Excel, STATISTICA). |
