In the process of revitalization, the documentation stage is very important, as well as the accurate definition of problems, as well as potentials and possibilities of a given area. The subject of Urban Studies and Analysis is dedicated to the acquisition and aggregation of data necessary for revitalization programs and processes.

Short description:

The main idea of introducing the subject of Urban Studies and Analyzes is to make students aware of the complexity of revitalization processes. Correct diagnosis of the problems occurring in a given area and the relationships between them is the basis for the effective implementation of future regeneration programs and projects.

The subject of Urban Studies and Analyzes is to introduce the subject of revitalization as an interdisciplinary, multi-faceted process, often in a long-term perspective. Operational issues will be strongly emphasized here. The didactic aim of the subject is to provide the necessary knowledge in the direction of mastering the skills

diagnosing the state of urban space, correctly formulating this state and selecting appropriate means for its interpretation.

An important element here is the ability to program activities, including those related to the revalorization of elements of urban space. Particular emphasis will be placed on learning and understanding planning documents related to revitalization processes.

Assumptions as well as basic activities and their hierarchy will be discussed in the class student group, it will allow for an exchange of views. It will open up a wide field of discussion, lead to crystallization and detailing of activities, and will expand the principle of traditional correction and consultation.

COMPETENCES

He is able to develop variants of solutions corresponding to the existing spatial problems. He can present the conditions, problems of implementation and the expected effects of various plans serving the public good - verbal, graphic and multimedia. (S2_K01, S2_K04, S2_K05, S2_K07)

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

As part of the course, students perform a multi-faceted urban analysis of a selected problem area intended for revitalization.

Practical placement:

As part of the course, consultations and meetings with local government employees dealing with spatial management, including revitalization problems, will be conducted.
