(tylko po angielsku) The scope of the concept of diplomatic practice & its main contributors. Diplomacy as an essential implementer of the state's foreign policy. Stages of the formation & development of diplomacy. Ancient origins & their transmission through Byzantium, the Vatican & Venice. Creation & application of diplomatic practices in China. Renaissance diplomacy and the rise of permanent diplomatic missions. Modern diplomacy and the development of international law. Congress of Vienna, international cooperation & the balance of power. The twilight of secret diplomacy & the League of Nations. The United Nations, international organisations, decolonization & integration processes in foreign policy. The Cold War, disarmament negotiations and the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe. Evolution of modern diplomacy after the end of the Cold War. The new actors in diplomatic relations. Summits & Track Two diplomacy. Challenges of globalisation, cultural diversity, demographic, technological & climate change, terrorism. The law of active & passive legation. Diplomatic protocol & formal aspects of diplomacy. Organisation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & the Foreign Service. Main functions of a diplomatic mission. Bilateral diplomacy.
