ECTS credit allocation (and other scores):	5.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles: the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS; the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h; 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes; weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS; work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load. view allocation of credits

Short description:	The course encompasses the basic issues regarding the role of ethics in public sphere, ethic values and standards of the public sphere functionaries, presentation of pathologies in the public sphere.
Full description:	The course encompasses the basic issues regarding the role of ethics in public sphere, ethic values and standards of the public sphere functionaries, presentation of pathologies in the public sphere. Issues: 1. Theoretical issues and general issues 2. The essence, the genesis and the functions of professional ethics 3. Ethics of politics 4. Public administration ethics 5. Business ethics and corporate social responsibility 6. Ethics of civil sector 7. Ethical context of the relations between the sectors 8. Sources and mechanisms of pathologies in the public sphere 9. Discrimination on the grounds of gender 10. Corruption 11. Social tools of counteracting the pathologies in Poland 12. Ethics of academy teaching and scientific studies 13. Ethics of the legal professions 14. Ethics of entrepreneurship and media ethics

Learning outcomes:	(in Polish) Po ukończeniu zajęć student rozpoznaje podstawowe pojęcia z zakresu etyki sfery publicznej. Umie wyjaśnić i określić znaczenie podstawowych standardów i zasad jaki winien kierować się funkcjonariusz służb publicznych. Rozpoznaje pola zagrożeń i zjawisk patologicznych w służbie publicznej. Określa rolę i znaczenie kodeksów etycznych oraz umie porównać ich treść i znaczenie.
Assessment methods and assessment criteria:	(in Polish) 1) Przede wszystkim istotne są zaliczenia kolejnych pytań testowych w trakcie trwania kursu, 2) Uczestnicy otrzymają też w ciągu semestru trzy zadania – prace domowe – polegające na krótkim (kilkuzdaniowym) omówieniu przedstawionego przez prowadzącego studium przypadku (tzw. case study) w oparciu o przedstawioną literaturę 3) osoby zainteresowane będą miały możliwość napisania egzaminu końcowego – w formie testu jednokrotnego wyboru, zawierającego ponadto trzy zadania/pytania opisowe 4) brak trzech aktywności powoduje niezaliczenie kursu
