Skrócony opis: |
The aim of the course is to give a general understanding of the basic principles of the history of Islamic art – its architecture, painting and artistic handicraft. The lecture is given both in the classroom and Google Meet at the same time. Students might choose whether they want to attend the lecture in person or via computer. |

The aim of the course is to provide an interesting and enjoyable introduction to some of the most significant works of Islamic art, in particular Arabic, Persian Turkish and Mughal art and architecture. Students will become acquainted with forms, iconography and ornaments of Islamic art, and with techniques of manufacturing particular objects. Topics will be presented in a chronological order – from pre-Islamic times and the origins of Islam to modern times. |

Knowledge: student has detailed and organized knowledge of Islamic art and aesthetics of Arab countries, Iran, Turkey and India student knows basic cultural phenomena (connected to art) of Arab countries, Iran and Turkey student knows and understands basic analysis and interpretation methods of various products of culture characteristic of local traditions in Arab countries, Iran, India and Turkey Skills: student is able to recognize and analyze most important phenomena/trends in art (painting, sculpture, architecture, other fields) of Arab countries, Iran and Turkey Social competences: student acts in aid of sharing and promoting cultural and linguistic heritage of Arab countries, Iran and Turkey |
