ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 3.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;

Short description:

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with some elements of museum studies - the theory of the museum, its typology, practical information connected to the museum functions and specificity of Asian and African museum, as well as creating exhibitions presenting heritage of various cultures.

Full description:

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with some elements of museum studies, especially in a multicultural context. The theory of the museum, as well as its various concepts, that changed with the passing of time will be discussed. Students will be acquainted with types of museums, e.g. art museums or digital museums. Different aspects of the museum work will be presented - e.g. preparing exhibitions, conservation, marketing, education and digitalisation.

The classes concentrate on multicultural and intercultural aspects of the museums, both from the European, and Asian-African perspectives.
