The goal is to provide knowledge about selected social theories and the diversity of EU regions and countries in socio-cultural, economic and quality of life terms, and to describe the relationship between these categories.

1. Culture as a determinant of social behavior. International research on the dimensions of culture.

2. Cultural and economic premises of regional diversity. The EU.

3. Cultural features of European regions (individualism, conservatism, secularism, etc.).

4. Institutionalism. The importance of inclusive institutions for the economy and democracy.

5. Perception of regulatory institutions in European regions.

6. Preferred models of economic and political institutions in European regions.

7. Quality of governance and bureaucratic efficiency in European regions

8. Social capital and its economic and political consequences compared to other types of capital.

9. Social and cultural capital in European regions.

10. Quality of governance and economic resources, social capital and cultural features.

11. Quality, governance and bureaucratic efficiency - specificity of the regions of Central and Eastern Europe

12. Labor relations. Industries, management methods, motivations in European regions and the psychological cost of work

13. Living standards in European regions

14. Mental state of the population in European regions and its determinants.

15. Economic characteristics of European regions. Specificity of Central and Eastern Europe regions and their development opportunities.

16. Relationship of economic development with cultural features, cultural capital and quality of governance.

17. Social and cultural characteristics of selected metropolieses - European against the background of regions. Center - periphery.

3. The institutional theory connecting socio-cultural phenomena with economic development.

4. Socio-cultural factors influencing attitudes to democracy.

5. The size of regional differences in European countries.
