ECTS credit allocation (and other scores):	2.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles: the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS; the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h; 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes; weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS; work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load. view allocation of credits

Short description:	It is a series of seminars - lectures presented by theorists and practitioners, related with regional development and development policy, representing domestic and foreign scientific and public administration institutions, as well as non-governmental organizations. The series is the effect of collaboration of three institutions: EUROREG, the Polish Section of Regional Studies Association and the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development. Full description:	It is a series of seminars - lectures presented by theorists and practitioners (in Polish or in English), related with regional development and development policy, representing scientific and public administration institutions, as well as non-governmental organizations. The series is the effect of collaboration of three institutions: EUROREG, the Polish Section of Regional Studies Association and the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development. Both theoretical lectures and results of scientific research are presented, as well as presentations of practitioners representing EU institutions, central, regional and local administration. After each presentation the audience can ask questions and discuss with the speakers. English on at least B2+ level.
Bibliography:	Power point presentations from the seminars (in Polish or English), literature suggested by speakers (in Polish and/or in English).
Learning outcomes:	In terms of knowledge, student: (1) Characterises the social, economic, natural and political conditions of spatial development. (2) Describes the social, economic, natural and political spatial structures in a local, regional and global dimension. In terms of abilities and skills: (1) Selects data from the literature, databases and other sources, in Polish or foreign language. (2) Integrates, critically analyses and interprets information from various sources. (3) Formulates the conclusions and justifies the opinions on the basis of their knowledge and information obtained from literature, databases and other sources. (4) Prepares the studies written in Polish presenting in a structured and logical way the information and arguments from the field of spatial development. In terms of social skills: (1) Independently improves their skills of preparing the written compilation. (2) Expands their conceptual workshop in the field of spatial development. (3) Specifies the arguments for formulating and communicating to the public information and opinions on various aspects of spatial development and spatial development in a commonly understood manner. (4) Independently broadens their knowledge of the spatial development using the interdisciplinary nature of these issues.
Assessment methods and assessment criteria:	(in Polish) Zajęcia prowadzone są w trybie stacjonarnym. Na każdym z seminariów każdy/a student/ka zadaje prelegentowi minimum 1 pytanie dotyczące wystąpienia. Pytania powinny być powiązane z treścią wystąpienia, być sformułowane w zrozumiały sposób, być logiczne, spójne i pozwalające na udzielenie odpowiedzi w ramach dyskusji towarzyszącej wystąpieniu. W ciągu 2 dni po seminarium student/ka przesyła treść zadanego pytania do koordynatorki przedmiotu. Jeśli przebieg dyskusji na seminarium uniemożliwi zadanie pytania podczas zajęć, wówczas student/ka jedynie wysyła pytanie drogą mailową. Każdy/a student/ka ma prawo do dwóch nieusprawiedliwionych nieobecności. Większa liczba nieusprawiedliwionych nieobecności jest podstawą do obniżenia oceny (-10 pkt za każdą nieobecność; przy maksymalnej liczbie punktów do zdobycia w ciągu całego semestru: 100). Potwierdzeniem obecności na seminarium jest wpisanie się na listę obecności.
