The course is designed to introduce the issues of accounting and is the basis for such subjects as: financial, managerial, tax, managemnet accounting, as well as corporate finance and financial analysis. The following issues will be discussed as part of the course: Accounting as an information system. Basic concepts related to: balance sheet (assets, liabilities and balance sheet principle), profit and loss account (revenues and expenses, and receipts and expenses). Overarching accounting principles. Business activity. Ledger account and its functioning. Statutory tasks of entities in the field of accounting - material scope (including: financial statements).
