ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 4.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

(in Polish) Do uczestnictwa w zajęciach nie jest wymagane formalne zaliczenie innych przedmiotów.

W kursie nie powinni uczestniczyć studenci, którzy uczęszczali na zajęcia „Język na tapecie – warsztaty polszczyzny użytkowej”

Od uczestników zajęć nie oczekuje się przed rozpoczęciem kursu opanowania szczególnego zakresu wiedzy czy umiejętności.




Short description:

The aim of the course is to develop critical thinking about contemporary Polish and the ability to write linguistically good utility texts, including academic ones. This is to be achieved by learning the tools for working with the text, learning the rules of the editorial workshop and acquiring the most important principles and practical skills in the field of the contemporary language norm by the participants.

Learning outcomes:

Learning outcomes in the field of knowledge. Student (K_W01, K_W04, K_W05, K_W08)::

- knows the basic terminology of grammar and normative linguistics and understands the role of linguistics in culture

- understands the relationship between the disciplines of the humanities and social sciences

- knows the basic methods of normative analysis and interpretation of texts

- knows the basic principles of scientific communication in the field of humanities and social sciences

Learning outcomes in terms of skills. Student (K_U01, K_U02, K_U04, K_U05, K_U06, K_U07, K_U08)::

- can select information from various scientific, popular science, journalistic and other sources and make a critical assessment

- is able to perform linguistic and correctness analysis of various types of utility and other texts

- can name normative problems and formulate a research problem

- is able to recognize and interpret the basic linguistic problems and phenomena of the present day

- can participate in scientific discussions concerning the language

- can independently develop and present the results of their analyzes and reflections

- is able to prepare a written work taking into account the elementary requirements for academic work

- can use digital tools in academic work

- is ready to undertake lifelong learning

- has readiness for own scientific development in the field of humanities
