Short description:

The exam tests the knowledge, skills and competences of the student acquired at methodological workshops, laboratory classes and during teaching practice at the school.

Full description:

The exam tests the knowledge, skills and competences of the student acquired at methodological workshops, laboratory classes and during teaching practice at the school. The exam has a practical form and consists in conducting chemistry lessons in the laboratory of the Chemistry Teaching Laboratory of the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Warsaw with the invited class.

The exam tests the skills of appropriate selection of content, methods and forms of teaching to the subject of lessons and the age of students, as well as the ability to write an outline and to teach lessons. Huge attention is paid to the methodical correctness and correctness of the lesson.

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge. The student knows:

- various methods and forms of chemistry teaching;

- basic components of the lesson outline.

Skills. The student can:

- choose the method and form of teaching appropriate for the purpose of teaching;

- choose materials suitable for the implementation of the given issue;

- write lesson plans;

- conduct a lesson based on a prepared outline and materials at every level of school education.

Competences: Student:

- cares about the quality and diligence of activities;

- demonstrates the ability to adapt to new situations;

- understands the need to adapt teaching materials to the students' abilities;

- correctly identifies and resolves dilemmas related to the teaching profession.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Both the process of preparation and conducting the lessons are evaluated.

The following are scored: appropriate selection of content, methods and forms of teaching; ability to create an outline and teach lessons. The mark is issued based on the number of points scored.
